The father failed to return his son to his estranged wife
Gardaí were today searching for a father from Co. Clare who failed to return his son to his estranged wife, and has since disappeared with the boy.
An adult caution has already been issued to the man by Garda this year, after he wrote graffiti and posted signs around his ex-partner's house in Co. Clare.
He also reportedly glued the lock to her house.
The couple are separated, with mother and child living in Clare, while the father resides in mainland Europe.
Frank Doherty, the mother's solicitor, today told family law court in Ennis, that the father had returned from overseas for a family law case in Ennis and asked for access for his son on Wednesday.
However, Mr Doherty said that the Gardaí are now searching for the man and his son, after the child's mother alerted Gardaí that the boy had not appeared at school on Thursday morning.
The search is ongoing.
