Cameron Reilly was found dead on Saturday morning
Garda have issued fresh appeals for information regarding the tragic murder of 18-year-old Cameron Reilly.
The body of the young man was discovered in a field in Dunleer on Saturday morning, by a man who was out walking his dog.
Gardaí confirmed on Sunday they are looking for Mr Reilly’s mobile phone, which was either stolen or removed before his body was found. They believe it could be the key to the investigation.
Residents and business owners in Dunleer have been asked to check their bins for the missing phone.
Gardaí would also like to speak to anyone who was in the Shamrock Hill area of Dunleer between Friday night and Saturday morning or to any motorist who may have dashcam footage.
A candlelit vigil will take place in Dunleer, Co Louth this evening for the first-year student.
''Our hearts are broken in a million pieces''
Meanwhile, Cameron's devestated Mother, Tracy Glass, has thanked the local community for its support on the Dunleer Parish Facebook page.
“Thank you to each and every one of you - our hearts are broken in a million pieces," she wrote.
"Xxx my beautiful son love you to the moon and back xxx."
Dunleer Parish priest Fr Michael Murtagh added to the tributes for Cameron, saying it was a delight to watch him grow up.
"I would’ve seen him almost daily out playing with his friends,'' he told RTE News.
"He is the kind of young man who would greet you, smile at you, just a delightful kid to meet and a delightful kid to watch grow up."
Gardai investigations into the crime continue.
