We always know it was coming...winter is here.
Freezing temperatures, heavy rain and frost... We're in for a pretty rough week according to Met Eireann.
The National Forecaster confirmed that heavy rain and showers are also set to hit the country in the coming week.
Brilliant!
After a cold and breezy start to the week on Monday, some frost will start to develop on Tuesday, as temperatures dip to just above freezing.
Met Eireann's forecast reads: "On Tuesday night, showers or longer spells of rain will continue, mainly over the eastern half of the country.
"The best of any clear spells will be further west with ground frost possible in places."
Temperatures will continue to fall into Wednesday, eventually reaching lows of 0C overnight.
There will also be "showers or longer spells of rain" in many areas during the day, with the heaviest of the rain in the east of the country.
The national forecaster said: "On Wednesday night, showers will continue in the east and south, but will die out elsewhere.
"Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees with frost in places."
As the week goes on it is expected to become slightly more mild, although there is still the potential for ground frost in some areas, and persistent showers will continue throughout the country.
The outlook for the rest of the week reads: "Through next weekend, showers will mainly feed up from the east and south.
"There may be a touch of ground frost and some patches of mist or fog at night."
Bring it on!
