A new weather map shows shocking 33C temperatures in Ireland next week.

As the heatwave continues to bake the Country, early weather models are forecasting the hottest may still be yet to come.

According to the experts at Weather.us, temps may even hot the baking high of 33C around Limerick next Thursday.

The hottest day of the year so far was recorded on June 28 when the mercury reached a sizzling 32C in Shannon.

If temperatures do rise to 33C, it would be the hottest day in over 40 years after 32.5C was noted in Co Offaly in June 1976.

While Met Eireann is yet to confirm the reports, it has said it will be "warm and mostly dry conditions will continue for most of next week."
