Driver-less cars are on the way to Ireland
Driverless cars will feature on Irish roads within a decade, and will have the capacity to save lives according to the Road Safety.
The RSA made the announcement today at a conference in Dublin Castle, being held to discuss what needs to be done to maximise the opportunities offered by the technology.
However, concerns have been raised over the new-technology after a self-driving Uber killed a woman in Arizona earlier this year.
CEO of the RSA, Moyagh Murdock, says the technology has life-saving potential.
"I do believe they can certainly reduce the severity of injuries and ultimately we would like to think they can save lives," she said.
Interestingly, RSA research shows just one third of people would trust an autonomous vehicle. While only 25% would be interested in owning one.
