SPANNING 59 countries, 245-days, this voyage is not for the faint-hearted
Start saving up your annual leave, and a serious amount of cash... because this looks absolutely epic!
Viking Cruises has revealed details of what will be the longest cruise in history.
A mammoth eight-month sea faring voyage, docking at an astounding 59-countries and 113 ports in every continent of the globe — well, except for Antarctica.
Loaded with 930-passengers, the Viking Sun will leave London on August 31, 2019 and circumnavigate the globe for a marathon 245 days, including 22 overnight calls.
From London, the ship will head west and work its way around Great Britain, stopping by Iceland, Greenland and Canada, before heading along the east coast of the United States, the Caribbean and around South America.
Then, it'll make the massive journey across the Pacific Ocean and reach New Zealand, before hitting up Australia. Then it'll head up through Asia, over to the Middle East and northern Africa, through the Mediterranean, and... finally back to London on May 2, 2020. Wow.
But, obviously, it won't come cheap.
Prices start at a casual €75K for a “Veranda” room and go all the way up to €219,144K for the exclusive “Owner’s Suite.”
But, those who spring out the cash won't be left wanting...
Unlimited Wi-Fi, a 7500-litre infinity pool and a Nordic spa with a “snow grotto,” are among just a few of the ship's perks.
There will even be a resident historian on board, offering lectures on art, history and other subjects that correspond to the next destination. Incredible!
