A man (40s) has been killed today after a collision in Co. Laois.
Gardaí are today investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N80, Simmons Mill Cross Road Co Laois.
Two cars collided shortly before 9am this morning (Tuesday). The driver, a man in his 40s, was fatally injured in the collision.
The occupants of the other car, a female and her child, are reported to have received minor injuries.
They were taken to Portlaoise General Hospital and Crumlin Hospital.
Investigations are on going.
Woman (60s) killed.
The incident follows another fatal collision in which a 68-year-old woman has died following a three-car accident in Roscommon on Monday night.
Two other people were injured and taken to Tullamore and Ballinsloe Hospitals.
