President Donald Trump has been criticised for his response to the tragedy, in which he failed to even reference the country's gun laws.
Meanwhile, a vigil of around 1000-people has been held for the victims of what is America's third most-deadly school shooting.
Some held candles, while others held up signs demanding stricter gun controls.
Questions are now being directed toward the FBI, after they admitted receiving a warning about a social media post made by the Cruz last year.
