We're being warned of a possible increase in the cost of potatoes
The recent drought means that potato yields may be well down on last year, according to reports from The Irish Farmers Journal.
Meaning a price hike is likely to affect new season potatoes, with suppliers also having to factor in increased production costs.
Stocks of potatoes has found that those in cold stores will last until September, however, this is unlikely to be enough to cover demand from packing and peeling markets.
Let's hope we can find a solution before then!
