A 73-year-old man has died in following a tragic farming accident in Gort, Co Galway.
The tragedy occurred on Tuesday morning and it's understood the man was driving a tractor at the time.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, a Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai in Gort are investigating a fatal farm accident at Crannagh, Gort, Co Galway between 7am and 11am on the 24th of July 2018.
"A male in his 70s was fatally injured in an accident involving a tractor."
It's the second such tragedy to take place on a Galway farm in just over a week after 54-year-old Patricia Newell lost her life in a livestock accident on Monday, July 16.
It's believed she was attacked by a cow while tending to her animals on the farm in Headford, Co. Galway.
