It's hoped Ireland will #DrivingElectric soon
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) #DrivingElectric Campaign will be officially launched today.
Denis Naughten TD the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, will introduce the campaign encouraging people to switch from Petrol and Diesel to Electric engines.
At present, cars and other transport account for a third of Ireland’s energy requirement and carbon emissions
One country that is already well underway with the switch is Norway. Where experts expect at least 40% of their traffic to soon be made up of electric vehicles.
The Scandinavian country offers major incentives for people willing to drive electric vehicles.
Including no sales tax and no VAT. While you are also excused from paying for parking and toll roads.
The #DrivingElectric campaign will be launched at 1pm today in the RDS on the opening day of the SEAI Energy Show 2018 which runs from 18-19 April 2018.
