Judge O’Connor agreed to a “remand in custody with consent to bail”
One of the 13-year-old boy's charged with the murder of Kildare schoolgirl Ana Kriegel is to be granted bail.
The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, was the first to be charged with the murder of the 14-year-old girl at Clonee Road, Lucan on May 14.
The teen was due to face his fifth hearing at the Dublin Children’s Court today, after being charged and remanded in custody on May 25th and refused bail on June 29th.
Judge John O’Connor was told at the Children’s Court that the prosecution had made significant progress in the case, and that a psychiatric assessment was carried out.
The case was listed again today, however, the boy was not present.
Defence solicitor Donough Molloy explained that the boy was before the High Court at that the time.
He added that bail is believed to have been granted, but that he was not yet aware of the terms.
Judge O’Connor agreed to a “remand in custody with consent to bail.”
It's understood bail will not be taken up by the boy for several days.
Judge O’Connor adjourned the case until Thursday.
