It happened in a pub in Newbridge.
A group representing pubs says the number of expensive compensation claims in Ireland is forcing businesses to close.
It's after a woman has been recorded on CCTV putting a piece of glass in her mouth while eating food in a pub in County Kildare:
Padraig Cribben from The Vintners’ Federation of Ireland says she told staff at Judge Roy Beans in Newbridge that she was choking.
He says the woman "can clearly be seen eating her food" and then "clearly seen looking around to see if anyone is watching her".
She's then videoed "putting her hand inside her top, taking the hand out and putting something into her mouth", according to Mr Cribben.
He claims she started to feign that she was "choking" and called a waitress to say that "there was glass in her food".
Owner of Judge Roy Beans Vivian Carroll told The Independent that he and his staff checked the CCTV footage and told her the entire incident had been recorded.
“The Gardaí were called, they took her details and she left. But if it wasn’t for security cameras I could possibly have faced a massive claim.”
