Throughout the week we are being asked to talk to our loved ones about our wishes when it comes to organ donation.

If you want to become a donor then just Freetext DONOR to 50050.

In order to mark the week, Fionnuala from The Lift caught up with Michelle Moran, a 37-year-old Galway woman who is doing her best to live life to the full after receiving kidney and pancreas transplants.

Michelle spoke about going through numerous health problems and having to go on dialysis for two and a half years.

"You're feeling isolated [when] on dialysis...your life is in the hands of your nurses and doctors.  Your energy levels are low, you're fatigued, you're weak, you're tired."

After going through all that, Michelle eventually got the all-important call to tell her she was getting the transplants she needed and she underwent her operation in January 2014.

She says it has completely changed her life and in 2017 she got to go on her first sun holiday in ten years!

"It was fantastic.  I went with my friend and her five kids.  We just chilled out and relaxed, it was a lovely holiday."
