Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick are under a status orange warning.
Met Éireann says Storm Lorenzo could bring violent storm force winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms and coastal flooding when it's expected to make landfall in Ireland tomorrow.
A status orange wind warning's been issued for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, with gusts of over 130 kilometres per hour in coastal areas, with storm surges to produce coastal flooding and damage.
The warning is valid from 6pm on Thursday until 3am on Friday.

Meanwhile all other counties are under a status yellow wind warning with gusts of 100km/h expected in parts, it's also valid from 6pm on Thursday and remains active until 6am on Friday.

The State's Emergency Co-Ordination Group is warning Lorenzo will be a "national event" which is likely to lead to power outages and fallen trees.
