Meanwhile Russia says it disabled three Ukrainian drones in Moscow
Vladimir Putin says he doesn't reject the idea of peace talks with Ukraine.
But he says a ceasefire's 'impossible' while Ukraine continues its counter offensive, while Kyiv insists that Moscow's forces must first withdraw from occupied territory.
Russia's President has been discussing ways to potentially end the conflict with African leaders.
In a translated clip Putin said, "In general the African initiative in my opinion can be the bases of some processes aimed at the search for peace, the same as others, such as for example the Chinese initiative."
Meanwhile Russia says it disabled three Ukrainian drones. which caused minor damage calling it "a terrorist attack" on Moscow.
Security and Defence analyst Declan Power believes Mr. Putin not sincere and is just playing to the crowd:
"He knows that there's likely that there's going to be these talks at some stage and he wants to try and do it while Russia has the upper hand on the ground while it still holds a significant chunk of the ground. He's also appealing in a way to give greater African support by putting them in the driving seat."
