There's a concern over a significant increase in young people using disposable vapes.

UK data shows the number of 11 to 17 year-olds vaping doubled over two years from 2021 to 2023.

The Royal College of Physicians wants legislation brought in here to ban disposable vapes to protect their health.

Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at CHI Crumlin, Professor Des Cox says vaping among teens and children has negative long-term impacts:

"There are two main concerns that we have.

"The first one is that the adolescents and children should not be exposed to nicotine.

"That's mainly because there are concerns regarding development of the brain, and there can be some cognitive issues for children and adolescents who are exposed to large concentrations of nicotine overtime."
