Vaping will be banned in Australia as part of a major health crackdown.
The sale of vapes will be restricted to pharmacies and will be on prescription only, after the country's Health Minister said e-cigarettes have created a "new generation of nicotine addicts".
In Ireland, legislation to ban the sale of vapes to under 18s is expected to be passed in mid-July.
But Consultant physician Dr. Luke Clancy says the changes will not solve the problem of nicotine addiction:
"Children who start on electronic cigarettes are twice as likely to smoke later. So they don't need any bans to encourage them to do that, that's a well known fact."
"So it's already a major problem and it's addiction to nicotine and it does lead to an increased smoking rate."
