Seven of Ireland's eight universities have risen in world rankings

Trinity College Dublin has retained its spot among the top 100 Universities in the world.

It jumped 17 places in the QS World University rankings.

Trinity College Dublin was ranked 81st in the world, coming from 98th place the year prior.

University College Dublin was the second highest ranked Irish college, coming in 171st place.

It's followed by University of Galway which came in 289th and University College Cork which rose from 303rd to 292nd place.

Elsewhere, the University of Limerick was ranked 426th in the world, Maynooth University between 801 and 850 and TU Dublin between 851 and 900.

The rankings are among the most consulted in the world, and are calculated taking into account factors such academic reputation, employment outcome and staff student ratios.
