The barbeque will be out in force this Bank Holiday weekend!
People are being warned of the dangers of eating undercooked food as households across the country are expected to dust down the barbeque over the weekend.
Safe Food is advising using a meat thermometer to ensure food is properly cooked.
A reading of 75 degrees Celsius for meat is the benchmark for it to be safe.
If you don't have a meat thermometer, there are three visual checks Safe Food recommends.
These include juices from the meat running clear and no pink left.
Communications Manager with Safe Food Dermot Moriarty says its just as important to store cold food properly, as it too can cause problems:
'Only keep them in the fridge until you need them, and then take them out.'
'Don't leave them sitting out in the sun, so that's to ensure you keep them safe from bacteria.'
