The news comes as experts are predicting a "twindemic" to hit us over the winter months
The country is at high risk of a mixture of Flu and Covid this winter.
A "twindemic" is being predicted by experts, as social distancing and mask-wearing has helped keep cases low over the last two years.
Immunologist at Trinity College Professor Kingston Mills is encouraging people to get vaccinated.
"What has happened in the past few days, which is quite exciting, the Moderna vaccine, the new vaccine which is designed to protect against Omicron was licensed in the UK and will be more than likely licensed in Europe very soon and coming on top of that there's a new vaccine from Pfizer."
The flu vaccination is certainly advised for people this winter...this winter we're expecting high numbers of flu cases."
