Five people have appeared in court accused of various crimes arising out of the investigation into Ashling Murphy's murder.

The 23 year old primary school teacher was killed along the Grand Canal in Tullamore on 12th January last year.

Jozef Puska, of Lynally Grove in Mucklagh, County Offaly, is due to stand trial for Ashling Murphy's in October.

Three of the five people who appeared in court today are accused of withholding information from the investigation team on dates between the day Ashling was killed and 27th January last year.

They are 35 year old Lubomir Puska, 34 year old Marek Puska, and Lucia Istokova, who's also 34.

The charges in relation to them are alleged to have happened at Tullamore Garda Station.

The other two: 33 year old Jozefina Grundzova and 38 year old Viera Gazoiva are accused of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Ashling's alleged killer.

Their addresses can't be revealed, by court order.

All five were granted bail today and are due back before Tullamore District Court next month.
