Damien Fleming, from County Kerry, was killed after a two-car collision during Stage 4 of the rally near Carron.

It happened at around 1:30pm.

An investigation is being conducted by Motorsport Ireland and the Gardaí.

The driver of the second car is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while an investigation is underway.

Sporting Manager at Motorsport Ireland, Art McCarrick outlines what they know so far:

"A car stopped with a mechanical issue and they actived their 'OK' button on the tracker. We believe on or two other cars passed the car absolutely fine, it appears another car lost control and collided with the stationary car"
