Today marks one year since the tragic Creeslough explosion

Large crowds are gathered in the Donegal town of Creeslough to mark one year since an explosion claimed the lives of ten people.

Eight others were injured in the blast on the 7th of October 2022.

Emergency services from both sides of the border attended the scene.

A year on , no update has been given on what caused the explosion and Gardaí are continuing investigations.

The crowd has gathered around what remains of Lafferty's Applegreen service station where their parish priest, Fr John Joe Duffy, is leading the community in prayer.

The 10 people who died in the tragedy were: Robert Garwe (50) and his five-year-old daughter, Shauna Flanagan-Garwe, Jessica Gallagher (24), Martin McGill (49) , James O’Flaherty(48),  Catherine O’Donnell (39) and her 13-year-old son James Monaghan,  Martina Martin (49) , Leona Harper(14) and Hugh Kelly (59).
