Richard Satchwell will appear in court again on Tuesday after being charged with the 45-year-old's murder.
There was a large Garda presence at Cashel District Court this morning.
57-year-old Richard Satchwell wore a black t-shirt and grey tracksuit pants and did not speak during the brief hearing.
Members of Tina’s family were present in court this morning.
Detective David Kelleher of Cobh Garda station said he charged the accused with the murder of Tina Satchwell at seven minutes past eight last night.
Defence Solicitor Eddie Burke said his client was not working and applied for legal aid, which was granted by Judge Miriam Walsh.
Mr Burke also asked that Richard Satchwell be medically assessed when entering custody.
Judge Walsh remanded Satchwell in custody to appear at Clonmel District court next Tuesday via video link.
