The song contained offensive lyrics about the tragic murder
Three people are to be prosecuted in connection with singing a song which contained offensive lyrics about the murder of Michaela McAreavey.
The news was announced by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) in Northern Ireland.
RTÉ report even individuals were reported to the PPS for consideration after a police investigation into footage of singing at an event.
The song included words referencing the death of Mc McAreavey.
The event was hosted in a venue in Dundonald, Co.Down in May 2022 which was streamed and posted on social media.
The daughter of Derry GAA manager Mickey Harte was strangled in her room on her honeymoon in Mauritius on 10th January 2011.
To date, no one has been convicted of murdering the daughter of Gaelic football manager Mickey Harte.
The three were investigated and reported by police as being among those who were captured in the footage engaging in the singing of the song.
They are set to appear at a magistrates' court on a date yet to be fixed.
