The red weather warning affecting 8 counties is now coming to an end.
However people are still being warned to exercise extreme caution now that Storm Debi has moved on.
Transport services aren't back to normal just yet either, Dublin Bus and Luas will begin phased operations from 10 am, Bus Eireann's services won't resume until 11 am.
At least 100-thousand houses, farms and businesses are without power nationwide.
The ESB says Meath, Galway, Roscommon and Longford are the worst impacted counties, adding that the number of power outages is expected to rise as the storm tracks eastwards.
ESB Network’s Regional Manager Brian Tapley says network crews will respond to outages once it is safe to do so.
'It's hard to say for definite at this stage because the full extent of the storm impact isn't fully known but I would say that we will be working throughout today and probably late into the evening to get as many customers back as possible but we won't know the full extent until later in the day.'
