A third case of measles has been confirmed in Ireland.

The Chief Medical Officer has confirmed the news saying she’s very concerned about the disease.

There have been outbreaks across Europe but so far numbers here have remained small.

CMO Professor Breda Smyth is urging anyone unvaccinated to get the MMR jabs.

"The vaccine is a safe, effective vaccine that has protected us for decades and we have had very few cases over the last number of years so really want to protect our population".
