People are being asked to keep an eye on vulnerable and elderly neighbours.
Matthew Martin from Met Éireann says motorists should be prepared for difficult travelling conditions.
'Any untreated roads will be quite slippery so obviously there could be some difficult travelling conditions in those icy areas.'
