The NTA has recieved 291 complaints over taxis not accepting card since September.
Hundreds of complaints have been to the National Transport Authority about taxis not accepting card.
New measures came in last September, which made it mandatory for all drivers to accept cash and card payments.
However, since then the NTA has received 291 complaints about taxis that have failed to follow the new rule.
Jim Waldron from the National Private Hire and Taxi Association, says the cashless system is more challenging for older taxi drivers:
'There's a lot of taxi drivers who are in the older category, and they wouldn't be very well versed on use of electronic equipment.'
'So I think it's taken them more time to transition.'
Meanwhile 56 percent of taxi drivers would recommend a career in the sector.
A survey by FreeNow found over half say the advantages of the job far outweigh the challenges.
81 percent of respondents meanwhile worked in a completely different industry before becoming a taxi driver.
