More passengers are complaining about taxi drivers - with a refusal to take card payments the main reason.

Over 1 thousand 600 complaints were made last year, which is a threefold increase when compared to 2021.

Last year, new rules came into force meaning taxi drivers now have to accept card payments, but anecdotal evidence shows some aren't doing this.

Taxi driver James Cullen insists most are taking card:

"I don't have a problem with it and as I said the vast, vast, vast majority of my colleagues don't have a problem with it."

"At the end of the day, most times when cards are processed, if I process a card now it'll be in my account tomorrow. With one or two of the providers, if you process a card now, it'll be in my account by the afternoon."
