The two jokers posted a video of the 13-minute call
The Taoiseach says he was almost immediately suspicious of a video call he received from pranksters a few months ago.
It was revealed yesterday that Leo Varadkar fell victim to a prank phone call by two Russian comedians "earlier this year".
The two pro-Kremlin jokers posted a video of the 13-minute call to streaming website Rumble in which they claim to be representatives of the African Union Commission.
The Fine Gael leader says he knew within minutes that something wasn't right.
"The way they managed to secure the video call was by impersonating someone who worked for the African union and at the outset of the call, because they used an image of the person and their voice we believed it was genuine but it became very obviously very quick that there was something wrong."
