The Taoiseach has appealed to UN countries to continue to back Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
Leo Varadkar attended a special event in New York to relaunch the Sustainable Development Goals ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Taoiseach addressed the UN general assembly last night and warned there's a risk of a new nuclear arms race instigated by Russia.
He appealed to countries outside of Europe to recognise they may also be impacted:
"I have no doubt that each of us in these United Nations has a deep interest in insuring Russia's attempts to move borders by force, should not succeed."
He continued, "For when one progressive prevails, their peers elsewhere will take notes and be emboldened."
