Surfing and Swinging - sure what more could you want!?
The summer is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate than making the most of what Sligo has to offer - all while raising funds for a very worthy cause.
We're delighted to be taking part in Sligo's Surf and Swing event in aid of the county's Neurology Support Centre - on the 29th and 30th April.
The centre's aim is to be a first-stop shop, so that whatever your condition you can contact them for advice and support.
The charity works to support those affected by the impact of a neurological condition.
"Our aim is to be a first-stop shop, so that whatever your condition you can contact us for advice and support. There are many fine organisations in Ireland representing the interests of those impacted by specific neurological condition such as MS, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Stroke, Huntington’s, etc. We support and supplement the work these organisations perform and can advise on any available national and regional supports."
The Event
Surf and Swing is a fun event designed so that team members don't need to be experts in either Golfing or Surfing.
25 teams of four will compete for the "NSC Surf and Swing" trophy.
Two team members will compete in the Golf competition of the first day (Sat 29th April), with the two others tackling the course the following day.
The iRadio Team
We've assembled our own crack team of surfers and swingers for the event!
- Dave Duke
- Conor Woods
- Michaél Kearney
- Ella Carey
None of them are natural born surfers OR golfers - but they're ready to give it their best shot in aid of a worthy cause!
Donations
All proceed from donations go to the Neurology Support Centre in Sligo.
If you can spare a donation - you can do so here.
