Hospitals must work through the evenings and weekends, according to the Health Minister.

Stephen Donnelly has today been outlining how he intends to tackle the record overcrowding and waiting lists within Ireland's health system.

Over 800,000 patients were on public hospital waiting lists at the end of 2022.

Minister Donnelly said while the problem requires a number of solutions, he's working with the HSE to ensure senior decision-makers are present in hospitals 24/7.
