Gardai are investigating an altercation which resulted in a man in his 40s being allegedly stabbed in the face in north Kildare, reports the Irish Mirror.
The victim was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown in the early hours of this morning after a row broke out shortly after midnight on Leixlip's Main Street.
It's alleged he was assaulted by a number of people.
Gardai told Dublin Live they are investigating the incident.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a serious assault that occurred on Main St, Leixlip Co Kildare on the 14 May 2019 shortly after midnight.
"A man in his 40s was allegedly assaulted by a number of other persons.
"The injured party received apparent stab wounds to his face and was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital".
No arrests have been made.
