Frontman Gary Lightbody surprised fans with an appearance from Bono.
Music from U2's iconic hit "One" began to play with the lead singer walking out on stage moments later.
He performed with the band to the crowds at Ward Park in Bangor.
Fans on Twitter believe the song was deliberately chosen in honour of the special relationship between the North and Republic of Ireland.
A post on Snow Patrol's Instagram says the experience felt like "a billion birthdays all rolled into one".
