The idea is to help children's focus on their studies.
China is planning to limit teenagers' use of smart phones to two hours or less a day.
The proposed regulation is in a comment period that lasts until September 2nd.
Under-8s will be allowed online for a maximum of 40 minutes a day, rising to one hour for 8 to 16 year olds,
16 to 18 year olds will be allowed two hours a day.
It's believed the rules would be enforced through "minor modes" on smartphones which would also ban internet access between 10pm and 6am.
It's hoped the idea will help increase children's focus on their studies.
