Industrial disputes will increase in the coming months, if the Government doesn't offset the rising cost of living.
SIPTU says the Coalition must take steps to increase real wages for its workers, as inflation reached 6.3% this week.
Energy, fuel and social welfare are areas identified by the Union, where the State could intercede.
SIPTU's Adrian Kane says people will soon be forced into action:
"I have no doubt that there will be an increase in industrial disputes over the coming months if Government is not trying to increase real wages for people, that people will be more and more forced to take action to ensure that they increase their wages directly with their employer."
