Security at Leinster House is to be kept under review in the face of aggressive protests towards TDs and senators.
Yesterday, demonstrators heckled people coming in and out of the building, while wheeling a gallows to the gates of the Dáil.
Pictures of a number of politicians, including Leo Varadkar and Mary Lou McDonald, were placed on the gallows.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said while people have a right to protest, security must also be prioritised.
He says security at Leinster House is lighter than other parliaments.
'We want our parliament to be an open place and we want people to be able to come and meet their TD's and senators but it is really important that elected reps and their staff are safe and I would think it appropriate that security is reviewed in an ongoing basis.'
