Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances behind a security alert in Longford town yesterday evening
Longford Shopping Centre and Dunnes Stores were both evacuated at about 5 o'clock, after Gardaí received calls regarding suspicious devices.
Staff and customers of both premises were forced to leave the centre with immediate effect.
The Defence Forces were called to assist - however, no devices were found, and the premises have been deemed safe.
According to Gardaí, they were made aware of a security concern facing both properties following phone call to the businesses.
As a result, Gardaí say they're now treating the calls as a hoax and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
