The funeral mass of the two-year-old girl who died tragically in Cork city has taken place this morning.

Santina Cawley's father stood with his daughter's coffin throughout her funeral mass this morning as his daughter was remembered as being full of joy and laughter at the North Cathedral in Cork.

The 2 year old will be laid to rest this afternoon in St. Catherine's cemetery in Kilcully after the service at the North Cathedral in Cork.

Celebrant Father Oscar O'Leary said Santina was her mother's angel: ''She says of Santina, she was my angel.''

''She always made me smile and laugh.''

''She always knew what she wanted and she was very found of teletubbies''.

The toddler was found with serious injuries in an apartment in the Boreenamanna Road last Friday, and was later pronounced dead.

A murder inquiry is ongoing.
