Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly have been appearing before an Oireachtas Committee.
Ryan Tubridy says he had absolutely nothing to hide about his salary.
Appearing at the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee, Tubridy tore into RTÉ's account of things and outlined seven untruths:
'The suggestion that my decision to retire from The Late Late Show was prompted by this whole debacle, this is not remotely true.'
He says he didn't take a 120,000 euro overpayment between 2017 and 2019:
'I actually waived my entitlement to this payment, I didn't receive one cent of it.'
'I hid nothing, I had nothing to hide.'
One of the biggest revelations found that RTÉ did give a guarantee to underwrite the 75,000 deal with Renault, which officials had denied.
In a statement RTÉ say the email is not a legally binding contract.
The committee hearings are ongoing.
Meanwhile several pubs across Dublin have been inundated with requests to broadcast the two Oireachtas Committees this afternoon.
The Camden, a sports bar and multipurpose venue, received 100 inquiries yesterday, about whether they’d be broadcasting it on their 4k screen.
Linda Monaghan, Area Manager for the Camden- Murray pub group says it’s what the public wants:
'Typically this time of year, the hot sporting events would be Tour De France or Wimbledon, but today it seems to be the Oireachtas committee.'
