"There may not be a legal obligation but there is a moral obligation."
The Media Minister says a €450,000 exit package paid to a former RTE Chief Financial Officer should be repaid.
It was revealed yesterday that former CFO, Breda O’Keeffe, was paid €450,000 when she left her job at the state broadcaster in 2020.
There's also a tax liability as her role was not made redundant, something RTE says it will pick up the tab for.
Speaking in the Dail this morning, Minister Catherine Martin, says Breda O’Keeffe should give the money back.
She acknowledged that it is not a legal requirement for Brenda to do so however, feels it is a moral issue.
