As Storm Gerrit continues to hammer the country - motorists are being asked to check conditions before making any journeys.
The Road Safety Authority says don't attempt to drive through flooded roads, and look out for fallen branches.
The RSA's David Martin says "drivers need to slow down and allow a greater braking distance between themselves and the vehicle in front."
Martin added that "this is going to be especially important on high speed roads such as dual carriageways and motorways where there is increased danger of aquaplaning."
In regards to the wind, David Martin said "control of the vehicle may be affected by strong crosswinds. High sided vehicles and motorcycles are particularly vulnerable to strong winds."
