30 modular homes have been planned for Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
Newbridge residents will stage a protest this weekend over the building of modular homes for Ukrainian refugees.
The government are planning to build 30 modular homes in the Kildare town, but locals have raised concerns.
It comes as the country struggles to find suitable housing for Ukrainians and other asylum seekers.
Newbridge locals believe they haven't been properly planned and Councillor Noel Heavey echoes their worries.
"It seems to me to be unbelievable that in this day and age without talking to anyone, any planning, any consideration that this should happen and imperil the houses that are there," he said.
"I just don’t understand it. To me - it’s not the way to do business."
“But this is like a grenade for this estate thrown on top of us. No consultation and we’re very concerned and very worried about what’s happening.”

"It’s nothing about being racist or anything else. It’s about ‘Please talk to us.'" he added.
Some locals have suggested placing the modular homes in more sparse areas such as the Curragh.
A protest is scheduled for this Saturday on the move, as many want more consultation on the build.
Others have expressed concern about losing some of the town's green spaces to modular housing.
CSO figures from August showed there were almost 48,000 Ukrainian refugees in Ireland since the Russian invasion began.
