Irish man jailed after he attempted to poison a co-worker

A 43 year old man has been jailed for one year after he attempted to poison a co-worker with a deadly substance which he ordered over the Internet.

Thomas Lynch from Lisgoold East, Midleton pleaded guilty to the attempted poisoning of Owen Sheehan on May 23rd, 2018 at data firm Iron Mountain at Springhill, Carrigtwohill.

Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard today that the pair had a row and when a mediation meeting at the company was cancelled Mr Lynch attempted to poison Mr Sheehan with 'Thallium' poison he ordered online.

The judge imposed a two year sentence, with the final 12 months suspended.
