There's €600,000 euro in credit sitting on Leap Cards that haven't been used in over 5 years.
110,000 of those have been dormant in that time, according to the Irish Examiner.
They're reporting that the National Transport Authority it intends to use funds in dormant accounts for the benefit of others.
It claims it has the necessary legal powers to access all credit held in Leap Cards that have been inactive for more than five years.
Spokesperson Dermot O'Gara says if you have money on a card that you can't find, there's "ways to get around that".
He's urging people to register their cards, saying it's worth going through the process to do so.
He insists there is a benefit;
"If they've lost they're card and if they're registered we can transfer whatever credit was on the card to a new card".
