A new 25 million euro investment will see over 850 new nursing posts created in Irish hospitals this year.

Labour's Health Spokesperson, Duncan Smith is welcoming the announcement - but is sceptical that the minister will actually follow through on these plans.
'It's one thing allocating funding, it's one thing actually delivering the workers, and will this be enough? We still have a long way to go to provide safe staffing levels across our acute health care settings. In a survey by the INMO it's says 75 per cent of their workers are thinking of changing their workplace, predominantly due to feeling unsafe.'
