Help is on the way to help adults learn literacy, numeracy and digital skills.
Photo by One million euro in Government funding is going towards 51 new projects to improve adult literacy, numeracy and digital skills.
They'll be taught through the likes of cookery, boxing and comic-making classes.
At the moment, almost one in five adults in Ireland struggle to read.
Further Education Minister Simon Harris says there's still a stigma around literacy that must be addressed:
'One in five adults struggle to read, one in four struggle with basic math.'
'One in two of us lack basic digital skills, that's why we established an Adult Literacy for Life strategy.'
'We have to de- stigmastise the issue.'
